St. Andrew's educates children in prekindergarten through the 8th grade. Our enrollment for the 2010-2011 school year is 166 students. The average class size at St. Andrew is 16 students.
A strong academic program, enhanced by state-of-the-art technology, includes foreign languages, music, fine arts, athletics, and library skills. Student publications, dramatics, intramural sports, and community service round out the St. Andrew's experience. Upon graduation, St. Andrew's students have a solid academic foundation that opens doors for them at competitive independent, public, and parochial schools. A majority of our upper school students qualify to participate in the Duke University Talent Identification Program.
Small classes and caring teachers provide a challenging learning environment where children grow intellectually, socially, and spiritually. St. Andrew's encourages faith formation and moral development by providing worship services, classroom instruction and opportunities for reflection and inquiry. Our students are excited about learning and about giving to others through community service
The St. Andrew's faculty is comprised of 26 teachers with an average of 6 years at St. Andrew's. Of our lead teachers, 70% hold graduate degrees. There is a 6:1 student/faculty ratio at the school. There are two teachers in each classroom in Prekindergarten through the 4th grade.
We have a small, attractive campus located on South Carrollton Avenue in Uptown New Orleans. In 1998, St. Andrew's constructed a new building that currently houses the 1st and 2nd grades and a state-of-the-art library and computer lab. We recently acquired additional property adjacent to the current campus that will allow for further expansion of the campus in the future.
